He has shaped major national policy initiatives, including contributing to the UK Department for Transport’s National Rolling Stock Strategy and acting as a technical expert in developing the UK-wide target to grow rail freight by 75% by 2050. Adam has also delivered high-impact commercial and technical work for both governments and industry, ranging from fleet strategy and business case development to digital transformation and network planning.
Demonstrating strong entrepreneurial acumen, Adam secured seed funding for Varamis Rail’s high-speed logistics venture, leading the commercial and technical feasibility assessment that earned Innovate UK recognition. Adam is primarily focused on promoting new markets and new operating models that unlock significant operational improvements and enhance network efficiency.
He also leads the development of GoLink across EMEA, expanding its footprint in rail innovation, freight strategy, and passenger transport transformation. Karen specialises in strategy and transformation, bringing deep insight into the commercial, operational, and regulatory challenges faced by rail organisations navigating periods of social, technological, and policy change. She has a strong track record of guiding cultural and organisational transformation, enabling clients to deliver sustainable value to passengers, stakeholders, and wider society.
With experience across the UK, mainland Europe, and Canada, Karen is adept at working within diverse and complex international environments. Her leadership capability is reinforced by hands-on delivery of major, high-profile programmes, including leading the development and implementation of the Greater Anglia franchise competition which was part of the UK Government’s Major Projects Portfolio and recognised as one of the most challenging procurements in the sector.

He co-founded Rail Operations Group (ROG) train operating company in 2013, leading its development over nine years, including the transformation of rolling stock delivery and new train introduction. He also led ROG through its acquisition by Star Capital in 2021 and the subsequent funding of the Class 93 tri-mode locomotives for the UK market.

Karl is an advocate for “rewriting the rules” rather than relying solely on large-scale infrastructure spending, supporting the adoption of new traction technologies and operational changes.
Previously, Karl was Head of Operations at GB Railfreight and has held multiple operational and managerial roles across the rail industry both in the UK and internationally. He also contributes to various industry, rolling stock, and standards committees, sharing his expertise to leave a legacy on the UK rail industry.

David brings extensive international and commercial experience across transport, logistics, ports, and rail freight. He has a proven track record in business development, B2B marketing, and operational management within ports, shipping and rail freight sectors.

Formerly Commercial Director for CMA-CGM and Head of Sector – Intermodal at DB Cargo, David has contributed to notable inland port projects such as iPort Rail and Mossend International Rail Freight Park, providing clients with operational expertise, commercial analysis, and strategic planning. He leverages his deep knowledge of liner shipping, port management, and railway operations and infrastructure to deliver actionable insights.
David also advises clients on strategy development, process optimization, network planning, and infrastructure projects in the UK and internationally, helping businesses navigate a growing and increasingly complex logistics landscape.

Trevor Hoyle is a highly respected leader in express logistics, formerly serving as Senior Vice President, Ground Operations Europe for FedEx Express before recently retiring after an accomplished and wide-ranging career. Since joining FedEx in 1995 as an Operations Manager in the UK, Trevor held multiple senior leadership positions across domestic and international operations, ultimately overseeing day-to-day ground operations and customer support across Europe.

Throughout his career, Trevor played a central role in shaping several strategic priorities for both FedEx and the wider express logistics industry, including last-mile operations, city logistics, smart transportation, and sustainable delivery models. His contribution to the sector has been recognised through his Fellowship of the Institute of Couriers and the Institute of Couriers Services to Industry award in 2022.
Trevor holds a postgraduate diploma in Strategy and Innovation from Warwick University and is currently pursuing a postgraduate diploma in Behavioural Science. He also maintains membership of the Institute of Directors.

Nick Gallop has spent more than 30 years bridging the gap between the rail industry, local planning authorities, and the wider logistics market – enabling retailers, manufacturers, and supply chain operators to move more freight by rail and develop the infrastructure needed to support growth.

Nick has played a role in delivering an extraordinary breadth of real-world freight flows and innovations, spanning Class 92 locomotives introduced on High Speed 1, fresh produce from Spain, bottled water from France, whisky from Scotland, supermarket goods into central London, parcels back onto passenger services, aggregates from Sussex and Suffolk, timber from Devon, and major waste flows from West London, Merseyside, and Manchester.
